Seoraksan national park is one of South Korea’s famous parks. Located on the northeast coast of South Korea it is renowned for its high craggy mountains and beautiful seasonal displays. It is an exceptionally stunning park with varying trails to offer. Getting to the high ridge area requires either a whole day up and down climb to the parks highest peak, Daecheongbong 1707m, or an overnight traverse of the Baekdu-daegan ridge requiring a night in a shelter. Highly recommended. Hikers should be moderately fit.

This Seoraksan multi-day guided hike is the 20km Baekdu-daegan section between Hangyeryeong and Madeungryeong. The terrain is high (1500m) with rocky trails. Views are stunning. Hiking days are 8 to 12hrs long. This hike involves a traverse over the stunning 5km dinosaur spine.

Day 1: The hike can start at either end, but normally begins at Hangyeryeong, with a detour ascent of Daecheongbong 1707m, and a night at a shelter.

Day 2: Hike to the 5km section of dinosaur spine. Descend through Biseokdae and down to the park entrance at Sinheungsa. Vehicle will be delivered. Have a big dinner. Return to Hotel or public transport link.

Hikers need to be moderately fit to enjoy this hike.

• Daecheong-bong 1707m – Start and finish at Osaek valley 8 to 10hr hike up and down.
• Daecheongbong 1707m – Start at Hangyeryeong, descend at Osaek valley, 10 to 12hr hike. Along the Baekdu-daegan, then descend to Osaek valley from Daecheongbong.
• Ulsan-bawi 873m – easier hike on the eastern entrance. Outstanding views from its spiky top. Well made staircasing and safe trail. 3 to 5 hrs of activity.
• Cheonbuldong valley – a beautiful valley walk through waterfalls, animated rocks, lush river foilage and incredible views. 3 to 6hrs.
• The cost does not include accommodation. Please bring your own trail foods and water for the day. Larger groups can be done on an arrangement.
