There is a small mountain system in the popular ancient Silla Buddhist capital of Gyeongju, called Nam-san. Gyeongju and Nam-san are listed as a historical national park. This 1N/2D tour entails an exploration on foot of the Nam-san terrain, an open ridge area, dotted with trails and native pine trees. However, Nam-san though is more famous for the abundance of Buddhist relics that adorn it. Silla dated 1000 year old carvings, statues and stupa’s dot the park making it an outdoor museum.

Temple stay numbers are limited to 2 or 3 persons.

We will hike and see most of these outdoor relics. The terrain is not difficult with the maximum altitude being 495m. Our hike will end up at the quaint Chilbul-am hermitage. If the group is small enough I can request a sleepover there. Next morning we will do a highlight tour of the major attractions of Gyeongju. This includes Seokgul-am, Bulguk-sa, and the royal tombs.

Arrangements can be made for a day only excursion from Busan.
